Bio
Jeremy Potts is a versatile violinist and educator who has performed in concert halls, loud bars, prisons, and everywhere in between. A two time JUNO nominee, he has recorded award-winning albums in genres ranging from classical to jazz and even video game soundtracks, collaborated with some of the world’s most accomplished contemporary composers, and toured as the violinist for Music in the American Wild, a septet that premiered commissioned works in United States National Parks as part of their centennial celebration. Passionate about promoting underrepresented Canadian composers, Jeremy spent five years as a member of the Ton Beau String Quartet, actively seeking out and programming their works.
An avid orchestral musician, Jeremy performs regularly with the Victoria Symphony and has previously performed with the the National Ballet of Canada, Canadian Opera Company, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Vancouver Island Symphony, Galiano String Ensemble, and the New York City-based Shattered Glass Ensemble.
He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Victoria and a Masters Degree in Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music. In 2023, Jeremy returned to his Vancouver Island roots and is currently based in Victoria.
